Cowgirl Soccer falls on the road

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Oklahoma State dropped a 4-1 match to Mississippi State in the Cowgirls' first road game of the season Thursday night at MSU Soccer Field.
With the loss, OSU fell to 1-2-1, while the Bulldogs improved to 4-0-0.
Brenna Rowlett scored the first goal of her career for the Cowgirls, who were outshot 11-6 in the contest.
The Cowgirls jumped out to a lead just over two minutes into the match as Addy Lang delivered a corner kick into the box that Rowlett headed into the back of the net.
MSU got the equalizer in the 18th minute. Eden Nicholson collected a pass in the middle of the box and sent a top shelf shot to the far post.
Just over five minutes later, the Bulldogs would go on top. A free kick from just inside midfield carried into the box and bounced over an OSU defender, and Hailey Johnson chased the ball down and headed it in to give the home team a 2-1 advantage.
MSU added two more goals late in the opening half, as Reganne Morris found the back of the net and Kyli Switalski converted a penalty kick to give the Bulldogs a 4-1 lead at the break.
OSU returns to action Sunday when the Cowgirls host Grambling State at Neal Patterson Stadium. Kickoff is set for noon.
