Cowgirl Soccer dominates in 5-0 win over Central Arkansas

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State concluded non-conference play in dominant fashion with a 5-0 win over Central Arkansas Sunday at Neal Patterson Stadium.
The Cowgirls will head into conference play with a 4-2-2 record, while UCA is now 3-4-1 on the season.
The game ties OSU's largest winning margin of the season and marks the Cowgirls' third shutout. Goalkeepers Avery Bass and Logan Marks combined for the clean sheet.
Five different Cowgirls scored goals, and OSU held a 25-7 advantage in shots and an 8-3 edge in corner kicks in the match.
The scoring began in the 29th minute when Laudan Wilson dribbled through several defenders and drilled a left-footed shot past the Bears goalkeeper to the far post for her second goal of the season.
Six minutes later, off a double assist from Emma Jensen and Emmy Hedden, Sherline King pushed the ball off her body into the back of the net for her first goal as a Cowgirl and a 2-0 OSU lead.
Just over a minute later, OSU struck again. Lily Weiss sent a ball into the box that the UCA goalie could not handle. Gracie Bindbeutel and a UCA defender raced towards the open goal, and Bindbeutel was able to slide and tap the ball into the net.
In the 40th minute of play, King crossed the ball into the box, and it was Jensen who headed it in for OSU's fourth goal of the game and her second of the season.
Consistent play continued in the second half, and the lone goal came in the 67th minute on a penalty kick by Addy Lang. The goal was Lang's third of the season, all coming on PKs, and ties her for the team lead along with Keaton Mitchell and DeFini.
OSU opens Big 12 play Thursday night when the Cowgirls host nationally ranked TCU at Neal Patterson Stadium.
