Cowboys Back In Action At Olympia Fields
September 16, 2026 | Cowboy Golf
OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. – Oklahoma State's men's golf team will resume its fall slate this weekend when it competes at the Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational at Olympia Fields Country Club.
The Cowboys are coming off an impressive 28-shot victory in their fall opener last weekend at the Sahalee Players Championship. Individually, four Pokes finished inside the top five with Eric Lee earning a runner-up finish, Gaven Lane finishing fourth and Preston Stout and Ethan Fang tying for fifth place.
Due to renovations at Olympia Fields' North Course, this year's tournament will be contested on the club's South Course. The second-ranked Cowboys will be one of 15 teams in action at the par-70, 7,215-yard layout.
Last year, head coach Alan Bratton's squad finished two shots clear of the field to win the event for the third time. The Cowboys also won the event in 2007 and 2018. Four times, OSU has produced the tournament's individual medalist with Rickie Fowler being the first in 2007. Trent Whitekiller was victorious in 2009 and Peter Uihlein won the event in 2010. Matthew Wolff was the most recent Cowboy to win, doing so in 2018.
OSU's starting five this week will consist of the senior quartet of Fang, Lane, Lee and Stout as well as junior Filip Fahlberg-Johnsson.
Play will get underway at 8 a.m. (CST) on Friday with Saturday's second round set to begin at 8 a.m. and Sunday's final slated for a 7:30 a.m. start.
Live scoring for the event will be available at scoreboard.clippd.com.
