Cowboys Fourth At Olympia Fields

OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. – Oklahoma State's men's golf team wrapped up the first day of action at the Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational on Friday in fourth place at Olympia Fields Country Club.
The Cowboys were one of nine teams in the 15-team field to complete 36 holes on Friday. The second round will conclude tomorrow morning with the final round slated to begin at 10 a.m. at the par-70, 7,215-yard layout.
Host Illinois finished the day at 26-under 534 to lead Texas Tech by a shot, while Arizona State stood at 24-under par with six holes remaining in its second round.
After opening with a 6-under 274 to stand in seventh place after the morning round, OSU fired a 14-under 266 to stand at 20-under par 540.
A pair of Cowboys finished the day tied for eighth place at 134 with senior Preston Stout carding a pair of 67s and junior Filip Fahlberg-Johnsson signing for rounds of 68 and 66 to get to his 6-under total.
Senior Ethan Fang climbed into a tie for 22nd place at 136 after following a 70 with a 66.
Classmate Eric Lee also finished the day at 136 with rounds of 69 and 67.
Senior Gaven Lane posted scores of 72 and 68 to stand in a tie for 51st place at 139.
