Cowboy Tennis wraps up ITA All-American Championships

TULSA, Okla. — The Oklahoma State men's tennis team saw its first major fall tournament action last week at the ITA All-American Championships at Tulsa's Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
Hank Trondson and Sydney Zick both won multiple singles matches. Trondson also teamed with Thomas Gadecki to post OSU's lone victory in doubles qualifying.
Trondson, a senior transfer, defeated Zachary Vilala of Illinois in straight sets and downed Texas Tech's Max Pade in three to reach the final round of prequalifying before falling to Michigan State's Mitchell Sheldon.
Zick, a freshman from Germany, knocked off Penn's Vojtech Vales and Duke's Dylan Long before meeting a similar end against Boise State's Filip Soderqvist.
The doubles team of Trondson and Gadecki finished a victory shy of the main draw, defeating Alabama's Vit Kalina and Matric Kriznik, 6-0, 6-3 before losing to the Clemson duo of Noa Vukadin and Viktor Markov in the final round of qualifying.
The Cowboys continue fall tournament play this week with individuals headed to separate tournaments in Lincoln, Neb., Little Rock, Ark. and Oklahoma City.
