In February 2022, Zach Allen returned to his alma mater as an analyst primarily working with the Offensive Line. Before coming back to Stillwater, Allen was the Defensive Run Game Coordinator and Recruiting Coordinator at Northeastern State in Tahlequah. Allen also spent 11 seasons at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M in Miami, OK spending time as both Offensive and Defensive coordinators through his tenure.
In January 2018, Allen was named head coach of the Norsemen. 31 players were named all-conference, and 32 players signed at the Division 1 level in his 2 years at the helm.
Following the 2016 season, Allen was awarded the American Football Coaches Association’s award for the best 30 coaches under 30 years of age.
In July 2017, Allen was awarded the Merve Johnson Integrity in Coaching Award at the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame in Oklahoma City.
Allen was a four-year letterman for the Cowboys from 2005-2008 amassing 50 career starts.
Allen married the former Samantha (Sam) Heinlein on March 10, 2012. Sam is originally from Edmond, Oklahoma and was a four-year letterman as a catcher for the Cowgirl softball team
