2018-19: In his senior campaign, amassed a 32-2 overall record with nine wins over top-20 opponents… Finished runner-up at heavyweight in Pittsburgh at the NCAA Championships where he earned All-America honors for the first time in his career… Claimed his second-straight Big 12 Conference title at 285 pounds… Dominated the field at the tournament taking three major decisions and a technical fall in the finals, outscoring his competition a combined 53-10… Took home top honors from the Reno Tournament of Champions where he went 5-0 with three bonus-point victories… Collected his first career fall against OU’s Jake Boyd on Dec. 9, inside Gallagher-Iba Arena… Notched six more pins over the course of the season along with six major decisions and four technical falls… Claimed first place at the Southern Scuffle with three bonus-point wins and a 3-2 thriller over eventual NCAA heavyweight champion Anthony Cassar of Penn State… In the month of February, defeated No. 7 Jordan Wood of Lehigh and Iowa’s No. 8 Sam Stoll at home… Was the No. 1 seed entering his second NCAA Championship.
2017-18: Was one of the pleasant surprises for the Cowboys in 2018, going 25-4 overall and 14-1 in duals during his first season at heavyweight … Scored an impressive 51 points for the Pokes in duals … Knocked off four ranked opponents … Tallied a team-leading 55 takedowns … Also led the team in major decisions with 11 … Big 12 Champion for the first time in his career after going 3-0 at the conference tournament … Knocked off No. 20 Jordan Wood of Lehigh and No. 9 Thomas Haines of Lock Haven on the way to a second-place finish at the Journeymen Classic … Posted an impressive 12-3 major decision over No. 14 Billy Miller of Edinboro in the Cowboys’ dual win over the Fighting Scots … Named as the No. 9 seed at the NCAA Championships and advanced to the round of 16 where he was narrowly defeated by Olympic gold medalist and national champion Kyle Snyder, 6-3 … Finished just a win away from All-America status … Finished first at the OCU Open.
2016-17: Went 18-9 overall competing at both 197 pounds and heavyweight … Made six dual starts for the Pokes … Recorded five bonus point wins, including one technical fall and four major decisions … Took home the title at the Reno Tournament of Champions, defeating Cal Poly’s JT Goodwin in the finals … Finished fourth at the Southern Scuffle where he recorded his lone ranked win on the season with a 3-1 win over No. 15 Frank Mattiace of Penn … Posted his first dual win as a Cowboy in a 1-0 win over Dylan Reynolds of Edinboro … Finished first at the Joe Parisi Open … Took home second at both the OCU Open and Outlaw Open.
2015-16 (at Nebraska): Went 8-3, and made two dual appearances at 197 pounds with two technical falls ... Recorded a runner-up finish at the Midlands Championships (Dec. 29-30), where he took down No. 12 Nate Rotert (South Dakota State) and No. 11 Phil Wellington (Ohio) before falling to No. 4 Nathan Burak (Iowa) in the finals. Finished first at the UNK Loper Open.
2014-15 (at Nebraska): Redshirt season ... Placed in three of his five open tournament appearances, and compiled a 15-4 record in the process ... Finished first at the York College Open, second at the Harold Nichols Cyclone Open and third at the Warren Williamson/Daktronics Open ... Also wrestled at the Southern Scuffle and Grand View Open ... Earned two pins, two technical falls and three major decisions on the season.
High School: Was a two-time state champion (2013, 2014) and 2011 runner-up at Edmond North ... An All-American, won the Walsh Ironman, finished third at the 2013 Junior National Freestyle Championships in Fargo, N.D., and earned runner-up honors at the 2013 Super 32 Challenge ... Was ranked fifth nationally among recruits at 195 pounds by InterMat ... Was named a first-team all-state and all-conference member, while also being named all-city wrestler of the year.
