Men's Netters Defeat The Sooners

Oklahoma State's men's tennis team defeated Oklahoma, 4-3, on Wednesday at the DeBois Tennis Center in Stillwater, Okla. The Cowboys improve to 9-4 (1-1 Big 12) on the year.
The deciding point came down to the No. 1 singles contest between senior Matt Prentice and Tobias Kronlein. With the match tied 3-3, Prentice outlasted Kronlein in three sets, 6-3,3-6,6-1.
"Matt knew that the match was on the line and was able to battle back and won a very tight match," said head coach James Wadley. "Matt hung in there and really battled to win that three set match."
Senior Fran Krepelka defeated Olivier Monferran in straight sets at the No. 2 singles position, 6-2,6-2.
Junior Jiri Jezek rolled through his match at the No. 3 singles spot over Sebastien Revol, 6-4,6-2.
The Cowboys gained an early 1-0 lead after winning two of three doubles matches.
Prentice and Krepelka teamed up to defeat Tobias Kronlein and Ollivier Monferran, 8-2, at No. 1 doubles to improve to 10-3 on the year.
"I am really proud of Fran and Matt," said Wadley. "They have led the team all year long."
After trailing 5-2, Jezek and Angel Diankov battled back to defeat Chris Mitchell and Matt Ogle, 8-5, at No. 2 doubles clinching the doubles point. The duo improves to 10-2 on the year and 9-0 at the No. 2 doubles spot.
The Cowboys will return to action on Friday when they host Colorado at 2 p.m.
