The Cowboys won all three singles matches that went three sets, including senior Nathan Byrnes's win in his final home match. He downed Philip Stephens 6-0, 3-6, 7-6 (1) at No. 2 singles in what he called some of the worst conditions he has ever played in.
No. 31 OSU clinched the match when Aleksey Bessonov outlasted Alberto Sottocorno 7-5, 2-6, 7-5 at No. 3 singles. Just as Bessonov's match ended, Igor Sobolta downed Worjciech Starakiewicz 4-6, 6-2, 7-6 (0) at No. 6 singles.
OSU's other win in singles came in straight-set fashion from Anton Bobytskyi at No. 5 singles. He bested Marko Ballok 6-2, 6-3.
In a surprise move, OSU broke up its No. 16 ranked doubles team of Nedovyesov and Byrnes. Despite the two playing apart for the first time this season, the Cowboys were able to sweep all three doubles matches en route to picking up the point.
Nedovyesov teamed with Bobytskyi at No. 3 doubles, and the two rolled to an 8-3 win over Brugues and Ballok. Byrnes joined with Bessonov and they beat TU's James Seagraves and Sottocorno 8-4 at No. 1 doubles.
After the point had been clinched, Sobolta and Mikhail Trukshanin downed Stephens and Ashley Watling 8-7 (2).
OSU, which is now riding a four-match winning streak, returns to action Saturday for the Bedlam match against
