Cowboys Fall Short Against TCU, 4-2

STILLWATER -- No. 22 Oklahoma State's men's tennis fell to the tenth-ranked TCU Horned Frogs, 4-2, on Sunday afternoon at the Greenwood Tennis Center.
"TCU has a very good team," coach Jay Udwadia said. "When we're playing teams of this caliber, the margins are small. We have to stay on top of our game and remember that the key points matter. We need to come away from this, knowing that we can play at this level and keep on pushing through."
The Cowboys (15-5; 0-2 Big 12) fell in tough doubles matchups, losing on courts two and three. The No. 24 Cowboy doubles team of Jakob Sude and Arjun Kadhe did not finish their match on court one, but led the 19th ranked Chappell/Stein duo, 5-4, before doubles play was wrapped up.
In singles, three Cowboys faced ranked opponents.
Playing at the No. 1-spot, Sude notched his second win of the weekend over a ranked opponent, defeating No. 37 Cameron Norrie in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3. The Poke victory tied the team score at 1-1.
The Frogs came back with wins on courts six and two, respectively, to take back the lead.
Nicolai Ferrigno added another point for OSU, picking up a decisive straight-set win on court five, where he took out Trevor Johnson, 6-4, 6-4.
The match wrapped up with a TCU win on court five, where Lukas Finzelberg battled against Arnau Dachs but fell just short.
Arjun Kadhe's match on court three was not finished, but the Cowboy was making a strong comeback after dropping the first set.
The Cowboys will be idle next week as they prepare for a nonconference match against Wichita State, which is scheduled for April 7 at 6 p.m. at the Greenwood Tennis Center.
