LAWRENCE, Kan. – Oklahoma State's men's tennis team upset No. 7 TCU, 4-2, Friday afternoon at the Sports Pavilion Courts to move onto the Big 12 Championship semifinals.

"This is the third time we played TCU and we both know each other well," OSU head coach Jay Udwadia said. "It was great to see Luke (Hammond) close it out. Both teams competed really hard. It just came down to a couple points at the end."

Sophomore Luke Hammond clinched the match for the No. 32 Cowboys (15-10, 1-4 Big 12), defeating TCU's Luc Fomba, 6-4, 3-6, 6-4, on court five.

The Cowboys started strong by taking the doubles point. No. 74 Emile Hudd and Matej Vocel defeated No. 17 Bertus Kruger/Reese Stalder, 6-1, while the pair of Hammond and Brady Draheim bested Luc Fomba/Sander Jong, 7-6(7-5).

The Pokes quickly took a 2-0 match lead as Maxim Tybar defeated Stalder on court three, 6-3, 6-2, in singles.

TCU responded when Kruger bested Hudd on court four, 6-4, 7-6(7-4), and Sander Jong beat Draheim 3-6, 6-3, 6-2, on court six.

With the match tied at two, No. 48 Vocel delivered a massive upset of No. 3 Alex Rybakov, 6-3, 1-6, 6-4, setting the stage for Hammond's clinch.

This is the first OSU trip to the Big 12 Championship semifinal since 2017, and the Pokes' first top-10 victory since April 9, 2017.

The Cowboys will face the No. 8 Baylor Bears in the Big 12 Championship semifinal Saturday at noon at the Sports Pavilion Courts in Lawrence.
