Cowboys Fall to Bears in Final Conference Road Match

WACO, Texas – Oklahoma State's men's tennis team fell to No. 7 Baylor, 7-0, Sunday afternoon at the Hawkins Indoor Tennis Center.
The No. 34 Cowboys (14-8, 1-2 Big 12) lost the doubles point when the tandem of Johannes Schretter and Constantin Frantzen defeated Artur Dubinski and Luke Hammond, 6-2, on court three.
Prior to that, the highest-ranked doubles tandem in the nation, No. 1 Sven Lah and Jimmy Bendeck, defeated No. 38 Mathieu Scaglia and Maxim Tybar, 6-0, on court one.
In singles, No. 45 Matias Soto quickly defeated Tybar on court two, 6-4, 6-3, to give the Bears a 2-0 lead.
Baylor's Adrian Boitan followed suit as he defeated No. 122 Dubinski 6-1, 3-6, 6-3, on court three.
Third-set victories propelled No. 105 Lah, No. 28 Schretter, No. 82 Will Little and Bendeck over OSU competitors.
On court four, Scaglia pushed No. 82 Little to three tiebreaks, but fell in the end, 6-7 (5-7), 7-6 (7-3), 1-0 (10-2).
The Bears improved their all-time series lead over the Cowboys to 28-9 and also improved to 13-0 at home on the season.
OSU is back in action Friday as it hosts No. 4 Texas at 5:30 p.m. at the Greenwood Tennis Center.
