Cowboys Move on to Second Round of NCAA Championship

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Oklahoma State's men's tennis team avenged its February loss to Ole Miss, defeating the No. 32 Rebels, 4-1, on Friday afternoon in the first round of the NCAA Championship at the Los Angeles Tennis Center.
The No. 25 Cowboys (16-11, 1-4 Big 12) will face the winner of No. 11 UCLA and Grand Canyon for the right to go to the Sweet 16 on Saturday at 5 p.m. (CST).
Sophomore Luke Hammond clinched the match for the Pokes, defeating Ole Miss' Cotter Wilson, 6-3, 6-3, on court six.
The Cowboys took the doubles point as the tandems of No. 41 Emile Hudd/Matej Vocel and Artur Dubinski/Hammond defeated their opponents.
Hudd and Vocel bested Simon Junk and Cotter Wilson, 6-1, and Dubinski/Hammond clinched the doubles point with a 7-5 victory over Jan Soren Hain and Tim Sandkaulen on court three.
Dubinski and Hudd also provided singles victories for the Pokes, Dubinski defeating Filip Kraljevic, 6-3, 6-1, and Hudd besting Soren Hain, 6-3, 6-1.
The Rebels defeated the Cowboys, 4-3, in Stillwater on Feb. 1.
OSU will be looking to advance to the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2016 and for the 11th time in program history. The UCLA/GCU match is scheduled to take place at 4 p.m. (CST) on Friday.
