Cowgirls Open Season With Dominating Performance

MARTIN, Tenn. – Oklahoma State's fourth-ranked equestrian team had a strong showing in the first half of their meet against No. 10 UT Martin Thursday, ending the day leading, 7-2.
The Cowgirls took three points in flat. Katie Pelzel defeated Haley Kane, 82-72, while Katie Schell bested Quinn Read, 84-81. Hannah Janson narrowly defeated Randi LaChance, 83-84.
Reining was dominated by the Cowgirls as they took four out of five points. Molly Mitchell topped Brooke Bradley, 69-64.5. Freshman Gentry Cherry took the point against Emily Zegiestowsky, 73-66.5, and captain Hannah Mitchell added to the Cowgirls lead, defeating Noel Meadows, 70.5-68.5. The final point came from Hannah Lovrien, who routed Hannah McDonald, 72-65, to end the day.
The Cowgirls will conclude their meet against UT Martin Friday morning at 9 a.m. They will conclude their weekend in Martin with a meet against defending national champion and top-ranked Auburn.
