Meet Notes (PDF)
The Basics
No. 6 Oklahoma State Equestrian will host Fresno State in its final Big 12 meet of the fall. The Cowgirls are 1-2 on the season and coming off a 12-6 loss in Fort Worth against then No. 3 TCU. Fresno State is 0-2 on the year with losses to Texas A&M and Auburn.
About the Cowgirls
The Cowgirls are led by 24th-year head coach Larry Sanchez, fourth-year assistant Laura Brainard and first-year assistant Carter Anderson.
Fresh Face on Staff
Carter Anderson joins the Cowgirl staff as the Jumping Seat assistant coach after one season at UT-Martin, where she was named the Eastern College Athletic Conference Equestrian Assistant Coach of the Year. In her one season on the UT-Martin staff, Anderson oversaw a group of jumping seat riders that was amongst the ECAC conference's best. The jumping unit collected 44 victories and 10 MOPs in fences to go along with 38 wins and eight MOPs in flat.
Conference Leaders
The Cowgirls went 9-1 against Big 12 opponents last season, including two wins on their way to a title at the Big 12 Championship and two more at the NCEA National Championships.
An Oklahoma State Win Would...
- Give it six-straight wins against Fresno State
- Improve the Cowgirls to 10-1 all time against Fresno State
- Prevent back-to-back losses for the first time since 2018
Who to Watch
"We are looking forward to competing this Friday against Fresno State as the girls have been riding very well this week," head coach Larry Sanchez said. "We made some adjustments in practice that should help us tighten up in a few places and are happy about the quick turnaround."
Cowgirls To Watch
• Despite putting up impressive scores all season, Ella Reinauer finally got her first win Flat win at TCU. Her 77-72 win earned the junior her first MOP honor of her career.
• Emma Pacyna continued her excellent start to the season, earning another Fences point at TCU. The 76-68 win made her 3-0 on the season, and she'll look to stay undefeated against Fresno State.
• Freshman June Roberson made a good first impression at TCU, posting a 75.5 in Horsemanship. Unfortunately, she ran into the high-scorer in Horsemanship and didn't get the point, but it was a great debut nonetheless.
• Riley Hogan has had an impressive start to her collegiate career. The sophomore went 6-2 last season, and her 83-76 Fences win at TCU put her at 3-0 to begin this year. A win against Fresno State would make it seven-staight points for the budding star.
• Dual-threat senior Jojo Roberson has provided incredible consistency for the Cowgirls in Reining this season. Her 71.5-70.5 win at TCU made her 3-0 on the year in the discipline, while she is now 1-2 in Horsemanship.
