The Basics
Oklahoma State's women's tennis team (6-3 overall; 0-0 Big 12) is set for a doubleheader starting with a matchup with UC Santa Barbara (1-8 overall; 1-0 Big West) followed by No. 9 Pepperdine (5-2 overall; 0-0 West Coast). The Cowgirls and the Gauchos square off at 3 p.m. (CST) on March 3 in Santa Barbara. Two days later, OSU will face off at Pepperdine on March 5 at 3 p.m. (CST).

In the Rankings
Oklahoma State checked in at No. 35 in this week's 2022-23 ITA Tennis Division 1 national women's tennis rankings. The Cowgirls have two student-athletes ranked in the individual rankings, with senior Alana Wolfberg earning the highest singles ranking of any Cowgirl as she landed at No. 107, while Sofia Rojas follows at No. 118.
Series History
Oklahoma State leads UC Santa Barbara 4-0 all-time with the last matchup coming in 2006 where the Cowgirls defeated the Gauchos, 5-2. Oklahoma State holds a 4-3 all-time record against Pepperdine. The last matchup against the Waves was in 2022 where the Cowgirls won, 4-3, at the Greenwood Tennis Center.
Oklahoma State From a Distance
The Cowgirls started off the spring dual season with a 6-1 victory over Tulsa. OSU hosted the ITA Kickoff Weekend in Stillwater where the Cowgirls were able to show off their depth. OSU went 1-1, finishing the weekend with a 4-0 shutout against Oregon. OSU then dropped a hard-fought match against 16th-ranked Michigan, 2-4, in the championship round. Following the Kickoff Weekend, OSU lost a pair of matches on the road against No. 11 Ohio State and No. 12 Michigan before sweeping Louisana Tech, Oral Roberts, Wichita State and No. 41 South Carolina, 4-0. This season, the Cowgirls return Ayumi Miyamoto, Sofia Rojas, Alana Wolfberg and Martina Zerulo from last years team. OSU signed Raquel Gonzalez, Amber Hochstatter, Kristina Novak and Lucia Peyre. The veterans and Cowgirl newcomers have played a large role in the teams early success. OSU set the stage this fall for high expectations come the spring season between the four returners and four signees. OSU has six ITA preseason top 25 opponents on this years schedule.
