Cowgirl Tennis Falls To No. 9 Pepperdine

MALIBU, Calif. - Oklahoma State's women's tennis team wrapped up its California road trip with a 4-1 loss at No. 9 Pepperdine on Sunday at the Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center.
With the setback, the Cowgirls fall to 7-4 on the season, while the Waves improve to 7-2.
In doubles play, Ayumi Miyamoto and Raquel Gonzalez improve to 6-0 as a pair after defeating the Wave's 27th-ranked doubles duo of Bunyawi Thamchaiwat and Lisa Zaar.
Sofia Rojas and Alana Wolfberg fell to No. 1 Savannah Broadus and Janice Tjen in a hard-fought match, 6-4. Lucia Peyre and Martina Zerulo dropped their match versus Anna Campana and Nikki Redelijk, 7-5.
The Cowgirls were unable to gain any momentum in singles action. Novak fell to No. 29 Tjen, 6-3, 6-3, and Wolfberg lost to 16th-ranked Savannah Broadus, 6-1, 6-3.
The lone Cowgirl point came at the hands of Big 12 Player of the Week, Miyamoto, when she bested Thamchaiwat, 7-5, 6-2. Pepperdine secured the match after Redelijk defeated Rojas, 6-4, 6-4.
The Cowgirls will be back in action for its conference opener at Baylor on March 10 at 6 p.m.
