OSU Tennis Defeats Kansas State in the Regular Season Finale

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Oklahoma State's women's tennis team picked up its seventh conference victory of the season on Sunday, taking down Kansas State in Manhattan, 4-1.
The Cowgirls finished the regular season with records of 14-6 overall and 7-2 in conference play to prove that OSU belong on college tennis' biggest stage.
OSU earned the early advantage due to Kansas State only having five players available. The Cowgirls automatically won on court three in doubles after the Wildcats forfeited.
The Cowgirls struck first by claiming the doubles point after a victory on court two. Kristina Novak and Alana Wolfberg were in control from start to finish in a 6-1 rout of Florentine Dekkers and Rozalia Gruszczynska.
OSU continued its momentum into singles starting with a dominate performance by Sofia Rojas as she bested Aleen Quamar, 6-2, 6-1. Lucia Peyre never slowed down in her matchup against Manami Ukita where she bolstered a 6-0, 6-3, victory in straight sets.
Wolfberg fell to Vanesa Suarex, 2-6, 6-2, 6-4, but the Cowgirls clinched the match after a forfeit by the Wildcats on court six.
The Cowgirls will turn their attention to the postseason, with the Big 12 Women's Tennis Championships slated for April 20-23 in Lawrence, Kansas.
