TULSA, Okla. – Oklahoma State's men's tennis team fell to No. 59 Tulsa, 4-1, on Saturday at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
The 38th-ranked Cowboys moved to 12-10 on the season.Â
Starting with doubles, Tulsa's Stefan Hampe and Ezequiel Santalla defeated Alessio Basile and Carl Roothman, 6-3, on court three. Francisco Pini and Alex Garcia answered for the Cowboys with a 6-4 victory on court two.
For the doubles point, Tulsa's No. 84 duo, Connor Di Marco and Kody Pearson, edged out Isaac Becroft and Chase Ferguson in a 7-6(2) tiebreaker.
Moving into singles, Garcia got the Pokes on the board, when he trumped Santalla, 6-3, 6-2. Tulsa answered with a 6-2, 6-1 win on court five. The Golden Hurricane added to its lead when Timothy Carlsson Seger bested Roothman, 6-2, 7-5.Â
Basile lost to Tulsa's Volodymyr Zakharov, finishing the match in favor of the Golden Hurricane.Â
The Cowboys return to action on Friday and Sunday, facing Texas Tech and Baylor at home, wrapping up the regular season.
