Malone, Russo Join Cowboy Football Staff

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State football coach Eric Morris added two more staff members Tuesday, naming Jordan Malone as defensive backs coach and Ethan Russo as Executive Director of Player Personnel.
Malone worked under Morris and OSU defensive coordinator Skyler Cassity at North Texas in 2025 and was also on staff with Morris at Washington State in 2022. Russo, who worked at Wisconsin in 2025, served under Morris at UNT in 2023 and 2024.
A 2006 graduate of Minnesota State, Malone is a 20-year coaching veteran who has worked with defensive backs for most of his career. He worked as the nickels and outside linebackers coach for the Mean Green in 2025 and had stints at Washington State, Minnesota State and others.
Russo has worked in football more than a decade and has held a player personnel role since 2019. In addition to his stops at Wisconsin and North Texas, he has also worked for UNLV, Utah, Rice, the Indianapolis Colts, the Cleveland Browns and TCU.
All university hires are pending completion of a background check.
