Cowboy Wrestling Heads to Cougar Clash

STILLWATER – The Oklahoma State wrestling team is set to compete at the 2025 Cougar Clash on Sunday, December 7, at First Community Arena in Edwardsville, Illinois.
The eight programs competing in this year's tournament include No. 9 Illinois, No. 12 Missouri, No. 16 Northern Iowa, No. 22 Little Rock, SIUE, Brown, and Northern Colorado.
At 125 pounds, the Cowboys send Gary Steen into the field. Steen dropped his only match of the season at Air Force last weekend. OSU entered four wrestlers at 133 pounds, including No. 20 Richard Figueroa II, Ronnie Ramirez, Rin Sakamoto, and Sam Smith. Sakamoto and Smith will make their season debuts at the tournament.
JJ McComas is the lone entry for Oklahoma State, while No. 13 Casey Swiderski, Cutter Sheets, Beau Hickman, and Kolter Burton will all wrestle for the Cowboys in the 149-pound bracket.
After going 1-1 last weekend at two different weight classes, Kody Routledge enters the 165-pound bracket with fellow freshman Ishmael Guerrero, who is set for his Cowboy debut at the Clash.
Cowboy starters No. 16 Alex Facundo and No. 9 Zack Ryder will compete for OSU in the 174 and 184-pound brackets, respectively.
At 197 pounds, Trevor Dopps, Austin Johnson and Jersey Robb will make their season debuts, with Benjamin Mower making his season debut in the heavyweight division for the Cowboys.
Action begins at 10 a.m. with pigtail matches and first round matches on four mats. The semifinals and consolation matches begin at 1 p.m. The consolation semifinals are slated for 3 p.m. and the championship finals with first and third-place matches commencing at 4 p.m.
Matches will be streamed on FloWrestling, and the event is free to the public.
Teams are allowed 18 wrestlers, with the final brackets being released after weigh-ins on Sunday morning.
