Cowgirls Soccer Outlasts Razorbacks

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State defeated Arkansas, 2-1, in a spring exhibition match Saturday at Neal Patterson Stadium.
With the win, OSU improved to 6-0-0 in spring play and has now outscored its opponents 21-2. The Cowgirls will conclude their spring season Saturday against Tulsa at 7 p.m. in Neal Patterson Stadium.
The Cowgirls got on the scoreboard first late in the opening half. In the 43rd minute, Reganne Morris drew a foul in the box, which set up Emmy Hedden for a penalty kick; Hedden delivered her shot past the goalkeeper, giving OSU a 1-0 lead.
In the 68th minute, Morris got in on the action, scoring a far-right curler to extend the lead to 2-0.
Morris' goal proved to be the game winner. Shortly after she found the back of the net, Arkansas scored its lone goal of the match to make the score 2-1, but the Cowgirls' defense held strong to prevent the equalizer as they did not allow Arkansas another shot.
