STILLWATER – Oklahoma State officially announced the signing of 6-foot-8 guard Christian Coleman on Monday afternoon.
In two seasons at UAB, Coleman helped lead the Blazers to the 2024 NCAA tournament and the 2025 NIT quarterfinals, averaging 11.6 points in 27.6 minutes this season. He tallied seven double-figure rebounding games and five 20-point performances while ranking among the American Athletic Conference leaders in rebounds (8th, 7.1), offensive boards (2nd, 3.14), double-doubles (7th, 6) and field-goal percentage (8th, .533).
OSU head coach Steve Lutz said:
"Christian's story is one of perseverance, and he plays like it. He's a tough, versatile competitor who knows how to win, and he's just now starting to scratch the surface of what he can become. We're excited to help him take his game to the next level."
The Winnsboro, Louisiana natives' unique journey to OSU and the Big 12 began with a seven-inch growth spurt after high school. He played his freshman season at NAIA LSU Alexandria and his sophomore year at South Plains junior college before landing at UAB.
Coleman helped the Blazers to a 47-25 record over the last two seasons and played some of his best basketball during the month of March.
He averaged a team-best 19.0 points on 75% shooting against 2025 NIT opponents Saint Joseph's (15), Santa Clara (21) and UC Irvine (21), where he pulled down a career-high 14 rebounds.
As a junior, Coleman was a catalyst in the Blazers' 2024 AAC tournament title push, averaging 14.3 points on 57% shooting in three games.
Coleman's fifth season of eligibility at OSU is made possible through a special NCAA waiver for the 2025-26 academic year, which grants an extra year to student-athletes who previously competed at a non-NCAA school.
He becomes the ninth new addition to OSU's 2025-26 roster and sixth NCAA Division I transfer.
