June 01, 2025 | Cowgirl Cross Country & Track
COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Oklahoma State women's track & field wrapped up the NCAA West Prelims Saturday, adding two more qualifiers for the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
Kaylie Politza continued her breakout season in the 800 Meters, posting a personal best 2:02.04 to finish eighth overall and punch her ticket to Eugene. Her time ranks as the fifth fastest in program history and marks her first career qualification for the NCAA Outdoor Championships after doing the same this indoor season. Politza is the seventh Cowgirl in the past five seasons to make it to nationals in the 800 Meters, joining Kaytlyn Larson, Stephanie Moss and Sivan Auerbach (2021) and Gabija Galvydye, who did so three straight seasons from 2022-24.
Later in the night, freshman Isca Chelangat placed sixth overall in the 5,000 Meters with her time of 15:51.86 to secure her first berth to the NCAA Outdoor Championships. Chelangat is the fourth Cowgirl in the past five seasons to qualify in the 5,000 Meters, joining Gabby Hentemann in 2021 and Taylor Roe in 2022 and 2024.
Following Saturday's performances, the Cowgirls will send five women to the NCAA Outdoor Championships, with Politza (800 Meters), Chelangat (5,000 Meters), Josphine Mwaura (10,000 Meters), Emma Robbins (Hammer Throw) and Annie Molenhouse (Heptathlon) each qualifying in their respective events.
The Cowboys will be represented by Alex Stitt (1,500 Meters), Brian Musau and Fouad Messaoudi (5,000 Meters), Denis Kipngetich (10,000 Meters) and Blair Anderson (Long Jump).
