Cowboy Basketball completes non-conference schedule
August 21, 2025 | Cowboy Basketball
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State men's basketball will play 10 home games — highlighted by a visit from Texas A&M — and compete in three NBA arenas as part of its 2025-26 non-conference schedule, released Thursday.
After leading the Cowboys to the NIT quarterfinals in his first go-around, head coach Steve Lutz is back with the Big 12's top transfer portal class, per On3 and Hoops HQ.
Year No. 2 tips off Tuesday, Nov. 4 against Oral Roberts.
The first weekend action comes Sunday, Nov. 9 when former Big 12 rival Texas A&M returns to Gallagher-Iba Arena for the first time in 13 years.
The Cowboys open with six straight home games over a 19-day span, continuing with Prairie View A&M (Nov. 12), A&M-Corpus Christi (Nov. 16), South Florida (Nov. 19) and Nicholls (Nov. 22).
Lutz was on the opposing bench the last time A&M-Corpus Christi came to Stillwater (Dec. 20, 2022). He led the Islanders to back-to-back NCAA tournaments (2022 and 2023).
The Cowboys head to Chicago for a Thanksgiving Day matchup with Northwestern at the United Center, part of a doubleheader that also features Duke and Arkansas.
Two more neutral-site games follow against Grand Canyon (Dec. 6 at the Phoenix's PHX Arena) and Oklahoma (Dec. 13 at Paycom Center). It will mark the first-ever meeting with GCU and the 251st with the Sooners.
The December slate also features Sam Houston (Dec. 2), Kansas City (Dec. 18), Cal State Fullerton (Dec. 21) and Bethune Cookman (Dec. 29).
In addition to GCU, Bethune Cookman and Northwestern are also first-time Cowboy foes. Northwestern joins Georgia, Indiana, Mississippi State and Rutgers as the only Power 5 schools that OSU has never faced.
Season tickets are on sale now. For more information or to purchase, visit okstate.com/tickets or call/text the OSU Ticket Office at 877-255-4678 (877-ALL-4OSU).
