Cowboys Remain Third At Carmel Cup

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – Oklahoma State's men's golf team remained in third place through two rounds of play at the Carmel Cup after posting a 352 total during its second round on Saturday at Spyglass Hill Golf Course.
The top-ranked Cowboys' 36-hole total of 713, 7-under par, is two shots behind Arkansas for second place at the par-72, 6,975-yard layout. Vanderbilt stands at 698 and will enter the final round atop the leaderboard.
OSU's Ethan Fang moved into contention, firing a 7-under 65 to move within a shot of the lead held by a pair of players. The Cowboy junior reeled off 10 birdies during his second round to move up the board. He stands at 8-under 136.
Fang opened with a birdie and followed a bogey at the second with birdies at the third and fourth holes. He would tack on birdies No. 5 and 6 at the seventh and eighth before turning in 3-under 33. After carding his final bogey of the day at the 10th, he would birdie five of the next seven holes to come in with a 4-under side of 32.
Junior Eric Lee moved into the top 10, posting a 70 to stand at 141 and tied for seventh place.
Junior Preston Stout was a shot back with a 70 of his own to share ninth place at 142.
Junior Gaven Lane finished the day tied for 23rd place at 145 after signing for a 73.
Senior John Wild finished tied for 35th place after posting a 74, while redshirt freshman Collin Bond's 74 moved him into a tie for 39th place at 151.
