ORLANDO, Fla. – Oklahoma State dropped a 3-1 match to UCF Sunday at the UCF Soccer Complex.

With the loss, the Cowgirls fell to 5-6-3 overall and 1-4-1 in Big 12 play, while the Knights improved to 8-3-1 and 3-2-1 in the conference.

UCF converted a pair of penalty kicks and netted its first two goals within a 2:28 span in the second half to earn the win.

Both teams finished with 15 shots in the match, while the Cowgirls held a 9-3 advantage in corner kicks. OSU's Avery Bass and UCF's Kaina Cesar each recorded four saves.

Bass had several big plays in the opening half to keep the Knights off the scoreboard, recording three saves and punching several balls out of harm's way.

The Cowgirls recorded just two shots prior to intermission, both coming on headers off set pieces, but an attempt by Tyller Grimes was deflected while Laudan Wilson had hers saved.

The score remained 0-0 until the 68^th minute when Wilson was whistled for a foul in the box and Moy converted the penalty kick.

Less than three minutes later, it was Moy again, this time sending it in from the top of the goal area to put the home team up 2-0.

OSU cut its deficit in half in the 75^th minute. After a shot by Emma Jensen deflected off the far post, Jada Moorman was there to tap in the rebound.

But UCF answered that score with another penalty kick, which was awarded after a video review and resulted in Tyra Eriksen converting for the Knights' third goal.

Over the final 15 minutes, the Cowgirls tallied six shots but could not find the back of the net again.

OSU returns to action Friday when the Cowgirls host Arizona State at Neal Patterson Stadium.
