The Basics
Oklahoma State's seventh-ranked equestrian team faces No. 6 TCU in its home opener. This will be the third matchup in the calendar year but the first of the 2026-27 season. It will also be the first time the Cowgirls will compete against the Horned Frogs since their 14-5 victory over TCU in the 2026 Big 12 Championships. OSU also seeks to bounce back after dropping their season opener at Fresno State 11-8.

About the Cowgirls                                                            Â
Head coach Larry Sanchez, in his 28th year at the helm, leads the Cowgirls alongside second-year assistant Ashley Duda and consultants Jody Brainard and Lindsey Trockenbrot.
2025-26 Review
The Cowgirls finished 8-4 overall and 4-2 in Big 12 competition, captured their sixth consecutive Big 12 Championship, and advanced to the NCEA Championship quarterfinals. Under Western assistant coaches Laura and Jody Brainard, Ava Bush and Emma Filiatreau earned first-team All-America honors in Reining, while June Roberson received first-team recognition and Bella D'Onofrio earned second-team honors in Horsemanship. Filiatreau was also named the Big 12 Reining Rider of the Year.Â
                                                   Â
Under Jumping Seat assistant coaches Alle Durkin and Ashley Duda, the Cowgirls' Fences and Flat squads played key roles in OSU's success throughout the season. Blake Rowan and Gable Gering highlighted the postseason performances, earning Big 12 Championship MOP honors in Fences and Flat. The Jumping Seat squad also helped propel the Cowgirls to their sixth consecutive conference title and appearance at the NCEA National Championship.
Conference Leaders                                                      Â
The Cowgirls posted a 4-2 record against Big 12 opponents last season, securing two victories en route to their sixth consecutive conference championship. The historic feat marked the first six-peat in Big 12 equestrian history.

Cowgirl MOPs

Who to Watch                                                       Â
Senior Bella D'Onofrio earned her fourth career MOP at Fresno State last week. After her win on Lucy, she extends her consecutive meet-winning streak to 10. Last year, D'Onofrio was named All-American second team in Horsemanship after a 10-2 season. She also was named NCEA Horsemanship Rider of the Month in February and Big 12 Horsemanship Rider of the Month for both February and March.Â
Lauren Gee earned a point last week for the Cowgirls with an 80-70 win in Fences. Gee improves her career record to 6-7-0.Â
Sophomore Sophia Tabasso shined last week at Fresno State, earning her second MOP as a Cowgirl, being the only athlete to compete in both jumping seat events and contributed points in both as well. On the 2025-26 campaign, she was named Big 12 Rider of the Month for November and reached a season-high score of 87.7 in Flat vs. Georgia in the NCEA quarterfinals, including a judge's score of 97.Â
Camille Kennedy had an impressive debut for OSU at Fresno State, scoring a 74 taking her first win as a Cowgirl. She'll look to build on that momentum for Oklahoma State's Horsemanship team on Friday against TCU.Â
Freshman Kenzie Bracken earned her first collegiate win with a score of 72, securing the final point in Horsemanship to give the Cowgirls a 4-1 advantage over Fresno State in the event.
