WICHITA, Kan. — The Oklahoma State softball team fell to Wichita State, 5-3, in a modified-scoring 10-inning fall exhibition Sunday at Wilkins Stadium.

Despite the modified result, the Cowgirls outscored the Shockers, 19-16, and outhit WSU, 18-15, highlighted by home runs from Libby Jaques and Payton Kennedy.

After Wichita State claimed the game's first point in the second inning, the OSU offense came alive in the fourth, plating seven runs on five hits and three walks. Oklahoma State followed with five runs in the fifth and added runs in each of the next four innings.

Kennedy homered in the eighth inning before Jaques launched a two-run home run in the ninth. Jaques finished with three RBIs, while Kennedy and Jayden Jones each drove in two.

Despite the efforts of the Cowgirl offense, the Shockers won four of the game's final six innings to claim the victory.

In the circle, six OSU pitchers saw action with Peyton May, Makala Smith, Delainey Everett, Kendra Lewis, Payton Kennedy and Kennedy Allen making appearances.

The Cowgirls return to action Wednesday, October 7, when they'll host Oklahoma Christian at 6 p.m. in Cowgirl Stadium.
