Cowboy Wrestling announces OnCue as title sponsor of the Cowboy Invitational
October 09, 2026 | Cowboy Wrestling
STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State wrestling and head coach David Taylor announced Friday a partnership with OnCue, naming the Oklahoma-based convenience store retailer the title sponsor of the upcoming Cowboy Invitational.
"We are excited to announce OnCue as the title sponsor for next month's Cowboy Invitational," Taylor said. "We want to give our fans an exciting product throughout the whole day and OnCue is able to make that a reality."
Founded in Stillwater in 1966, OnCue is celebrating 60 years of serving Oklahoma communities. The company has grown to more than 78 convenience store locations across Oklahoma and Texas and employs more than 1,800 team members.
"We are thrilled to support such a legendary wrestling program, especially one with such deep roots in our hometown," said OnCue President Laura Griffith Aufleger. "My great-grandfather, Art Griffith, led Oklahoma State wrestling to eight national championships, making this partnership especially meaningful to our family. We look forward to being part of an exciting season for Cowboy Wrestling."
The Cowboy Invitational sponsored by OnCue is the first chance to see the Cowboys in action for the 2026-27 season. It will take place Sunday, Nov. 1, at Gallagher-Iba Arena and feature three mats with 10 brackets of double-elimination competition, with eight athletes at each weight. Competition begins at 10 a.m. CT and will conclude with 10 consecutive championship bouts, one at each weight. The winner at each weight will take home a special OnCue-themed trophy.
The event is designed to generate revenue for the program and is the first college wrestling tournament hosted at Gallagher-Iba Arena since 2021, when the Cowboys hosted the Cowboy Challenge Tournament featuring OSU, Missouri, West Virginia and Wyoming.
There will be no livestream for the tournament, so fans are encouraged to attend and support the Cowboys in person. FloArena and live updates from @CowboyWrestling on X will provide coverage throughout the competition. Tickets are available at https://okstate.evenue.net/events/WR-INV.
Head coach David Taylor and the Cowboys are coming off an impressive 2025-26 campaign in which OSU captured three individual NCAA titles and finished second as a team at the NCAA Championships. All eight of last season's All-Americans return to the roster, along with Dreshaun Ross, Jordyn Raney, Jayden Raney and numerous other freshmen who are part of the No. 1-ranked recruiting class of 2026.
