The Basics
The Oklahoma State's men's tennis team will look to improve to 6-2 as they take on a stacked weekend of opponents. Starting on Friday morning at the Greenwood Tennis Center, the Pokes will take on UTSA at 11 a.m., followed by a match against the Creighton Blue Jays at 6 p.m. Moving to Sunday, the Cowboys will make the trip eastward as they take on the Arkansas Razorbacks at 2 p.m. at the Billingsley Tennis Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The Pokes will look to bounce back from a tough weekend in the northeast, dropping two matches, both 4-3 on the last court. They will look to start 5-0 at home for the second time in the Taylor era, and the first time since the 2023 season.
Â
Newcomers Making Their Names Known
The Cowboys have been fueled by the newcomers of the program. Starting with Georgia Southern transfer Aaron Williams, he has started his Cowboy career perfectly, going 5-0, including a key comeback win over Yale's Jim Ji, 6-4, 3-6, 7-6(5), to keep the Pokes in the match with the Bulldogs. The All-Sun Belt player has shined just as bright in doubles, winning four of his first five, including a signature victory with partner Nicolas Kobelt over Princeton's No. 2 doubles team, 7-6(6), to take the doubles point against the Tigers. The two freshman, Haydar Gokpinar and Charlie Valentine have proved themselves early in their careers, going a combined 7-0 in singles, all without dropping a single set.
Â
In The Rankings
As of January 7, the Cowboys checked in at No. 6 in the Big 12 Preseason Coaches' Poll. No Cowboys or Cowboy pairings are featured in the rankings as of Feb. 4.
Â
Series History

Separated by just over three hours driving, the Cowboys and Razorbacks have a long history with each other. The two have met 36 times, with OSU holding a slight edge at 19-17, but OSU has taken 12 of the last 13 matchups. The two haven't met up since 2022, where Arkansas took the win, 5-2. 2021 was the last time the Pokes came out on top against the Razorbacks, defeating them in a tight one, 4-3.
