Oklahoma State from a Distance
Following an impressive nonconference showing, Oklahoma State is seeking some consistency after dropping two of its first three Big 12 series,
The Cowgirls hold seven wins over ranked opponents and nine run-rule wins on the season, which was tied for the most through the first 21 games in program history. OSU averages 6.8 runs per game, which would set a new program record if the season ended today.
Veterans Claire Timm, Audrey Schneidmiller, Amanda Hasler, Tia Warsop, Rosie Davis and Karli Godwin have all been productive offensively, with Timm and Schneidmiller on pace for the best seasons of their respective careers. Davis and Hasler have combined for 29 extra-base hits and 67 RBIs. Freshmen Jayelle Austin, Gabby Castillo and Aubrey Jones have all made immediate impacts, with Austin pacing the team in walks and the latter two ranking among the team leaders in batting average.
Two-time All-American Ruby Meylan ranks in the top 10 among all active players in career pitching appearances (143), innings pitched (634.2) and strikeouts (707). This season, she leads the Big 12 in innings pitched (121.1) and strikeouts (126). Senior RyLee Crandall and freshman Preslee Downing have combined to go 10-3.
