Cowboy Duo Named Hogan Award Semifinalists

FORT WORTH, Texas – Oklahoma State's Ethan Fang and Preston Stout were among the 10 standouts named semifinalists for the 2026 Ben Hogan Award it was announced today by the award's selection committee.
The Ben Hogan Award annually awards the top men's NCAA Division I, II, III NAIA or NJCAA college golfer based on all collegiate, amateur and professional events over the previous 12 months. The joint announcement is made by the Fort Worth Colonial Charities, Friends of Golf and the Golf Coaches Association of America.
With Fang and Stout being recognized, OSU is the lone program with more than one semifinalist.
Fang has won twice this year, winning at The Carmel Cup and sharing medalist honors with Stout at the Maridoe Collegiate. He has posted five top 10s on the year for the Cowboys.
This past summer, he was victorious at the British Amateur Championship. With his victory, he gained entry into the 153rd Open Championship last summer and The Masters this past week. Additionally, he was in the field at the PGA Tour's Procore Championship and the DP World Tour's Hero Dubai Desert Classic.
Fang competed for the United States at the Arnold Palmer Cup, the Walker Cup and the World Amateur Team Championship. He is currently ranked No. 7 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking.
Stout has three collegiate victories to his credit this spring with wins at the Cabo Collegiate, the Maridoe Collegiate and most recently the Mountaineer Invitational.
He was victorious this past summer at the Northeast Amateur Invitational and competed at the PGA Tour's 3M Open. Stout also claimed medalist honors at the U.S. Amateur Championship before reaching the round of 16 in the match play portion of the event.
Like Fang, Stout represented the U.S. at the Arnold Palmer Cup, the Walker Cup and the World Amateur Team Championship. He currently checks in at No. 3 in the WAGR.
The Ben Hogan Award has honored the outstanding amateur collegiate golfer at Colonial Country Club since 2002. Prior to its move to Fort Worth, the award was issued in Los Angeles beginning in 1990.
An international selection committee comprised of 40 leaders in collegiate, amateur and professional golf votes during each stage of the process.
This year's three finalists will be named on Tuesday, May 12. The trio will attend a black-tie dinner on Monday, May 25 at the TCU Legends Club in Fort Worth where the winner will be crowned.
