Cowboy Tennis Drops Match at No. 15 UCF

Orlando, Fla. — The Oklahoma State men's tennis dropped its match at No. 15 UCF, 4-0, on Thursday evening at the USTA National Campus.
OSU moves to 14-8 (1-4), while UCF improves its record to 18-4 (4-2).
The Cowboys fell behind early when it came to the doubles point. UCF took the point with the help of wins on courts two and three. Although the doubles point was lost, Cowboy's Nicolas Kobelt and Aaron Williams played inspired against UCF's Yassine Dlimi and Paul Colin on court one, taking a 6-5 lead before play was stopped.
UCF came out quick, taking all but one first set en route to its shutout victory. The Knights wins came on courts one, two and four. Dlimi defeated OSU's Alessio Basile, 6-2, 6-2; Wissam Abderrahman defeated Kobelt, 6-3, 6-2; and Colin defeated OSU's Derek Pham, 6-2, 6-1.
With the match settled, courts three, five, and six went unfinished. Despite the result, OSU's Williams put on a strong showing, leading UCF's Nicolas Oliveira, 6-4, 5-2, before the match was called off.
The Cowboys return to Stillwater for a match with Arizona State at the Greenwood Tennis Center at 1 p.m. CT on Sunday.
