Christopher Thies wins UTR PTT Norfolk title

NORFOLK, Va. — Oklahoma State men's tennis sophomore Christopher Thies captured his first UTR title as a Cowboy, winning the PTT Norfolk.
The German standout went a perfect 6-0 during the week, taking all 12 sets he played.
Thies' victory marks the third UTR title by a Cowboy this fall after Haydar Gokpinar won tournaments in Stillwater and Tulsa.
Freshman Ilan Hediger also earned a top-10 finish. He defeated teammate Ben Stecker in the semifinals of the 9th-12th place playoff bracket, 7-6(7), 3-6, 6-2, before falling to Georgia's Cooper Johnson in the ninth-place match.
Fall action continues for the Cowboys on Monday with Ian Bracks competing in the UTR PTT Lincoln.
