Oklahoma State earns four Big 12 weekly awards

STILLWATER – After a 41-24 win in the Big 12 opener at West Virginia Saturday, No. 19 Oklahoma State collected four of the Big 12's six weekly football awards Monday.
The trio of quarterback Drew Mestemaker, linebacker Ethan Wesloski and kicker Sam Keltner swept the player of the week honors for the second time this season as they were named offensive, defensive and special teams players of the week, respectively. They each won the same awards earlier this year after defeating Oregon.
The Cowboy offensive line, which was also honored after the Oregon game, was named this week's offensive line of the week.
In his debut Big 12 game, Mestemaker completed 20-of-27 passes for 389 yards and three touchdowns to mark the most passing yards for a Big 12 player against an FBS team this season. It was his third consecutive 300-yard passing game and extended his FBS-best streak with at least 200 yards passing to 19 games. He ranks third in the FBS in passing yards per game and total offense.
Mestemaker was also named to the Davey O'Brien Great 8 list for his performance, marking the second time this season he has received the honor.
Wesloski finished with a season-high 17 tackles to mark the most tackles for a Big 12 player in any game this season, the fourth-most for an FBS player in a game this season and the most among Power 4 players this week. He had 11 by halftime, which was already the most for a Cowboy in a game this season. He also had half a sack on the opening drive to help force a WVU punt. Wesloski now leads the Big 12 with an average of 9.0 tackles per game.
Keltner went four-for-four on field goals and scored 15 total points in Oklahoma State's 17-point win, and his long field goal was 47 yards. It marked the second time this season he's gone four-for-four on field goal attempts and he is now 10-for-10 on field goals this season, leading the FBS in field goals made. He is also top-10 in the FBS in scoring.
The Cowboy offensive line, which did not allow a sack in the game, paved the way for a huge offensive performance with Mestemaker passing for 389 yards, Caleb Hawkins rushing for 180 yards and Wyatt Young piling up 192 receiving yards. It marked the second time this season that trio has gone 300-100-100, with the first coming against Oregon in week two.
Oklahoma State finished with 609 yards of total offense to mark the most for OSU against a Big 12 opponent since going for 682 yards against TCU in 2021 and the most for OSU in a Big 12 road game since 2018, when the Cowboys piled up 640 yards of offense against Oklahoma in Norman. It marked the third consecutive game the Cowboys exceeded 500 yards of total offense, and the last time OSU had 500 yards of total offense in three consecutive games was the first three games of the 2019 season.
Season tickets are sold out to Oklahoma State football games this year, but there are still opportunities to get tickets to see the Cowboys in Stillwater.
With four home games remaining and the Homecoming matchup against Colorado sold out, a three-game mini-pack is the best way to go to the games with remaining ticket inventory.
