No. 24 Cowboy Tennis Dominates Arkansas-Pine Bluff

STILLWATER – The No. 24 Oklahoma State men's tennis team improved to 5-1 on the season after a midweek meeting with Arkansas-Pine Bluff, where the Cowboys defeated the Golden Lions, 7-0, at the Greenwood Tennis Center on Thursday.
In doubles, the Cowboys won the two matches contested as the Lions were forced to forfeit the doubles match on court three due to an incomplete lineup.
Tristan Meraut and Nathan Roper paired up on court one, defeating the Rahman/Greig duo, 6-0. On court two, Trent Botha and Leonard Gerch took out Vieria and Carroll, 6-1.
The Cowboys started singles play with a 2-0 lead with the Lions forfeiting the match on court six.
The Pokes picked up wins on the remaining five courts, with Botha finishing first on court five, delivering his opponent a 6-0, 6-0 loss.
Leonard Gerch wrapped up his match in similar style, defeating Alfred Carroll, 6-0, 6-0, on court four to clinch the win.
Between courts one, two and three, the Cowboys only gave up seven games en route to dominating their opponents.
Lukas Finzelberg put up a 6-0, 6-2 win over Sajid Rahman on court two, while Nathan Roper beat Jualon Grieg, 6-1, 6-1, on court three.
On court one, Meraut defeated Leo Vieria, 6-0, 6-3. He was the final Cowboy to wrap up his match.
The Pokes travel to Minneapolis, Minn., this weekend to take on No. 46 Minnesota on Sunday at 12 p.m.
