Cowboys Fall to Baylor in Big 12 Semifinal

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Oklahoma State's men's tennis team fell to No. 8 Baylor, 4-1, in the Big 12 Championship semifinal Saturday afternoon at the Sports Pavilion Courts.
The No. 32 Cowboys (15-11, 1-4 Big 12) started off strong by taking the doubles point.
The pair of Luke Hammond and Brady Draheim defeated Johannes Schretter/Constantin Frantzen (Baylor), 6-4, while No. 74 Emile Hudd and Matej Vocel bested Sven Lah and Adrian Boitan (BU) 6-4, to clinch the doubles point.
In singles, the Bears swept the Cowboys. Kyrylo Tsygura defeated OSU's Draheim, 6-2, 6-4, to even the match score at one.
On court one, No. 27 Johannes Schretter defeated No. 48 Vocel, 6-4, 6-1, and Sven Lah defeated Luke Hammond on court five, 6-2, 6-4, to bring the Bears one point away from clinching a spot in the Big 12 championship match.
The Bears clinched the match when No. 111 Adrian Boitan (BU) bested Maxim Tybar (OSU) 6-3, 6-1, on court three.
This was the first appearance in the Big 12 Championship semifinal round for the Cowboys since 2017.
The Cowboys will be back in action in NCAA Regional action, beginning May 3.
