Cowgirl Tennis Falls to No. 16 LSU

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Oklahoma State's third-ranked women's tennis team wrapped up its weekend in Champaign, Illinois, for the ITA Indoor National Championships with a 4-0 loss to No. 16 LSU on Sunday.
The Cowgirls fall to 6-3 with the loss and will have next weekend off before hitting the road once again to take on No. 7 Michigan on Feb. 21 and No. 17 Ohio State on Feb. 23.
The match began with doubles, with LSU winning on courts one and two to earn the point. First, Tilwith Di Girolami and Anita Sahdiieva beat No. 41 Gracie Epps and Marcela Lopez, 6-4, before No. 71 Cadence Brace and Kayla Cross defeated No. 86 Anastasiya Komar and Rose Marie Nijkamp, 6-3, to clinch the point.
On court three, Kylie Collins and Alian Zack led Kenna Erickson and Gaby Rivera, 5-4, before their match was abandoned due to LSU clinching the point.
In singles, the Tigers got wins on courts one, three and five to finish off the win. Court five was the first to finish, as Kinaa Graham beat No. 69 Lopez, 6-3, 6-0. Courts one and three finished nearly simultaneously, as Brace beat No. 65 Komar, 6-3, 6-2, while Di Girolami defeated No. 40 Epps, 6-0, 6-2, to clinch the win.
Three courts went unfinished, as Collins trailed Cross, 6-7 (5-7), while Nijkamp led No. 115 Sahdiieva, 6-3, 2-3, and Zack was ahead of Erickson, 7-6 (7-5).
