Stailee Heard Named Finalist For All-America Honors
March 25, 2025 | Cowgirl Basketball
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State's Stailee Heard has been named one of 50 finalists for this season's 10-member Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) NCAA Division I Coaches' All-America team it was announced today.
The distinction adds to a list of honors on the year for the Cowgirl sophomore, who was named a first-team All-Big 12 selection and to the league's all-tournament team earlier this month. Additionally, Heard was named to the USBWA Ann Meyers Drysdale National Player of the Year Midseason Watch List and garnered Big 12 Player of the Week honors on Dec. 9 before being named a USBWA National Player of the Week on Jan. 14.
Heard's 16.8 points per game rank 11th among players in the Big 12 and her 8.2 rebounds per game is the fourth-best average in the league. The Sapulpa, Okla., native checks in at No. 10 among league players in field-goal percentage at 47.7 percent and she ranks eighth with her 1.8 steals per contest.
After tallying double-doubles in OSU's final three games of the season, Heard finished with 12 on the year, which is tied for the second-best total among league players.
Over a three-game stretch, Heard made 13 consecutive 3-pointers, which set school and Big 12 records. Her string was one shy of matching the NCAA mark. She also set the Big 12 Championship single-game record with her 17 made free throws in OSU's win over Texas Tech.
NCAA Division I head coaches who are WBCA members may nominate players from their own teams for Coaches' All-America. They then vote for the top players in their respective regions from among those players who are nominated. The WBCA NCAA Division I Awards Committee, which is composed of head coaches from each region who are elected by their peers, may select up to 12 additional at-large finalists from the remaining pool of nominees.
The committee will meet in Tampa, Florida, in conjunction with the annual WBCA Convention to select the 2025 Wade Trophy winner and the 2025 WBCA NCAA Division I Coaches' All-America team. Both will be announced on April 3.
