Cowgirl Basketball Adds In-State Transfer

STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State's women's basketball team has added in-state transfer Tyla Heard it was announced today by Cowgirl head coach Jacie Hoyt.
"We are very excited to welcome Tyla to our roster!," Hoyt said. "She is a tireless worker and has a tremendous competitive spirit. She will give us great depth, especially at the defensive end of the floor."
A 5-11 guard, Heard joins the Cowgirl program after spending her freshman season at Oral Roberts.
A native of Sapulpa, Okla., Heard helped the Golden Eagles to a 24-9 mark overall and a 12-4 record in Summit League play this past season. Heard played in 32 contests during her first collegiate season, averaging 14.3 minutes per game. She averaged 2.3 points and 2.4 rebounds per outing while dishing out 47 assists and recording 24 steals on the year.
As a senior, Heard averaged 17.6 points, 9.8 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 3.0 steals per game for Sapulpa. Additionally, she recorded 13 double-doubles on the year while helping her squad reach the Oklahoma Class 5A final. She was an All-World player of the year finalist and collected all-state honors as well.
During her prep career, Heard helped the Chieftains capture a pair of state titles. She scored 1,355 points and grabbed 690 rebounds to go with 324 assists and 198 steals in 104 games.
