Cowgirl Basketball Rounds Out Roster With Frontcourt Trio

STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State's women's basketball team has bolstered its frontcourt with the addition of three post players in Faith Acker, Wilnie Joseph and Favour Ogechukwu Onoh, who have all signed to join head coach Jacie Hoyt's program.
"We are very excited about the additions of Faith, Wilnie and Favour. They will help tremendously with our post depth. They have very different builds and skills that will help fill what we lost with the departure of our seniors," Hoyt said.
Faith Acker · 6-2 · Center · Winnsboro, Texas (Tarleton State)
Acker, a 6-2 center, joins the Cowgirl program after spending her first two collegiate seasons at Tarleton State.
"Faith has great mobility and strength that we feel is crucial to have in the Big 12. She has some of the best hands and footwork I've seen around the rim. She is a great finisher and free throw shooter which is rare for a post," Hoyt said.
Acker helped Tarleton State to a 20-14 mark and its first-ever Division I postseason berth with the Texans competing in the WNIT last season.
As a sophomore, Acker appeared in 34 games and made 27 starts, averaging 9.3 points and 6.3 rebounds per outing. Additionally, she blocked a team-best 32 shots.
The Winnsboro, Texas native was named to the WAC All-Freshman Team in 2023-24 and was twice named the league's newcomer of the week. Acker was the squad's second-leading scorer at 9.0 points per outing and led the team with her 5.8 boards per game.
Wilnie Joseph · 6-5 · Center · Greenwood, Indiana (McNeese State)
Joseph joins the Cowgirl program after spending last season at McNeese State where she averaged 3.8 points and 4.9 rebounds per contest. The 6-5 center played in 31 games on the year and made 30 starts. Joseph recorded her first career double-double in the Cowgirls' contest against Houston Christian, finishing with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
The Greenwood, Ind., native competed for UL-Lafayette as a junior. She appeared in 19 games and made five starts on the year, averaging 1.4 points and 1.7 boards per game.
Joseph spent her first two seasons at Labette Community College, competing in 42 games and starting 16 times during that span. In 2021-22, she helped lead the squad to 24 wins.
"Wilnie is the last piece to round out our roster and we could not be more excited about her. She will add great depth for us in the post position She has a great knack for rebounding and takes a lot of pride in her defense. She has a heart of gratitude and perfectly embodies the core values our program is about," Hoyt said.
Favour Ogechukwu Onoh · 6-5 · Center · Enugu, Nigeria (Univ. of the Philippines)
Onoh joins the program after competing for the University of the Philippines in 2023-24. She missed this past season due to injury.
A native of Enugu, Nigeria, Ohoh averaged 10.7 points, 13.9 rebounds, 3.2 blocks, 1.3 steals and 1.2 assists per game during her first season competing in the UAAP. She was named the UAAP Season 86 Rookie of the Year in the process.
Additionally, the 6-5 post helped lead the UP Fighting Maroons to a third-place finish, marking the first time the squad has reached the podium since 2008. In her squad's overtime win over the University of Santo Tomas in 2023, she set a UAAP single-game record with 30 rebounds. and scored 14 points in the contest as well.
"Defensively, Favour is a great rim protector. She has great height and length that will make it hard for others to score over. We love how mobile she is for her size and believe that she can be a great rim runner for us which is crucial in our offense," Hoyt said.
