About Oklahoma State
    • Oklahoma State is 2-1-1 on the season and returns to action with a split week as the Cowgirls travel to Rice for a Thursday night match before a Sunday showdown in Stillwater against No. 17 Mississippi State.    • The Cowgirls are coming off a 14-5-3 season in 2024 in which they finished fifth in the Big 12 Conference standings with a 6-3-2 mark and earned a berth in the NCAA Women's Soccer Championship, where OSU lost in the first round to No. 2 national seed Arkansas.
    • OSU returns seven players who started at least 10 games for the Cowgirls last season, including All-Big 12 performers Gracie Bindbeutel, Xcaret Pineda and Laudan Wilson.
    • Head coach Colin Carmichael entered his 21st season at the helm in 2025 with a career record of 265-110-53 (.681).
Â
Last Week
OSU began the week by battling Nebraska to a 1-1 draw at Neal Patterson Stadium on Thursday night. The Huskers scored in the 81st minute before Xcaret Pineda converted a penalty kick in the 84th minute for the equalizer.    On Sunday, the Cowgirls took a 3-0 lead against Arkansas State after 60 minutes on a pair of goals by Pineda and one by Jazmin Brown. The Red Wolves made things interesting late, scoring in the 83rd minute and then converting a PK in the 84th minute, before OSU's defense shut them out over the final six minutes to seal the win.
Â
Scouting The Opponents
    • Rice is 2-1-0. The Owls opened the season with wins over Houston Christian and UTRGV before a 4-0 loss in their last match at No. 12 North Carolina.    • Brian Lee is in his seventh season as Rice's head coach and has led the Owls to a 62-42-12 record. X Gon' Give It To Ya
It's safe to say OSU's offense runs through Xcaret Pineda.    The Cowgirls' senior midfielder has played a role in six of OSU's seven goals this season, finding the back of the net five times and also recording an assist. She notched the first multi-goal game of her career with a brace against Arkansas State.Â
Pineda ranks second in the Big 12 and third nationally in goals and is third in the league and sixth in the NCAA with 11 points, She is third in the Big 12 with 14 shots, seven of those on frame.
With just one more goal, Pineda will tie her career high for goals in a season — she has tallied six goals each of the last two seasons.
In 65 career games, 61 of those starts, Pineda has recorded 19 goals and 12 assists while taking 149 shots.
Â
Leading Logan
In her first season as a starter, sophomore goalie Logan Marks leads the Big 12 with 17 saves and a 4.25 saves per game average. She reached a career-best six saves against both Oklahoma and Nebraska.Â
