Cowboys Enter Final Round At Olympia Fields In Third

OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. – Oklahoma State's men's golf team posted a 1-under 279 during its second round at the Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational to stand in third place through 36 holes at Olympia Fields Country Club.
The Cowboys stand at 1-under 559 and three shots behind Texas Tech at the par-70, 7,353-yard layout. Florida carded a 267 on Saturday to lead the team race with its 549 tally.
OSU junior Gaven Lane fired a 66 to move into a tie for first place with Florida's Matthew Kress at 135. The duo finished the day with matching totals of 135, 5-under par.
Lane posted his lone bogey on the second hole and quickly moved back to level par for the day with a birdie at the third. He would par his next six holes to turn with an even-par 35 total. He would extend his run of pars with five in a row to start his second nine before carding an eagle at the par-5 15th. Lane would close his round with back-to-back birdies at the 17th and 18th.
Junior Eric Lee climbed into the top 20 with a 1-under 69. He stands at even-par 140 heading into his final round.
Junior Preston Stout followed an opening 69 with a 73 to finish at 142 and tied for 29th place.
Junior Ethan Fang stands in a tie for 35th place at 143, while senior John Wild rounded out the starting five with a 72 to get in with a 148 total and tied for 62nd place.
