Cowboys Fifth Heading Into Final Day At Pauma Valley

PAUMA VALLEY, Calif. – Oklahoma State's men's golf team posted a 1-over par 285 on Tuesday at the Pauma Valley Invitational to dip two spots into fifth place at Pauma Valley Country Club.
Through 36 holes, the Cowboys stand at 564, 4-under par, tied with Illinois and are seven shots off the lead at the par-71, 7,311-yard layout. The Cowboys are just two shots out of fourth and six back of second place with Tennessee leading with its 557 tally.
Tennessee's Lance Simpson and SMU's William Sides moved to the top of the individual leaderboard at 8-under 134.
OSU's Preston Stout will begin his attempt at his second consecutive individual victory tied for third place and two shots back at 136. The junior posted an even-par 71 after opening with a 65 on Monday. Stout bounced back from an outward nine of 3-over 39 with a 3-under 32. His second nine featured birdies at the 11th, 13th and 18th.
Junior Ethan Fang followed his opening 69 with a 71 to stand in a tie for 15th place at 140.
Sophomore Filip Fahlberg-Johnsson is tied for 37th place at 143 after signing for a 72.
Junior Eric Lee rose 11 spots into a tie for 53rd place with his second-round 71 giving him a 36-hole tally of 145.
Redshirt freshman Collin Bond is competing individually at the event and turned in his second consecutive 73 to come in tied for 56th place at 146.
Junior Gaven Lane's second consecutive 74 knotted him for 68th place at 148.
The Cowboys will begin their final round tomorrow at 8:26 a.m. (PST) and will be grouped with Illinois, Ole Miss and SMU.
