About Oklahoma State
   • Oklahoma State is 5-4-3 on the season and tied for 10th in the Big 12 standings at 1-2-1. This week, the Cowgirls host Texas Tech Thursday night at Neal Patterson Stadium before a Sunday road test at UCF.
   • The Cowgirls are coming off a 4-13-2 season in 2025 and returns eight players who started at least eight games a year ago, including Preseason All-Big 12 midfielder Laudan Wilson.
   • Colin Carmichael entered his 22nd season as OSU's head coach in 2026 with a career record of 269-123-55 (.663).
Three Decades
The 2026 season marks the 31st in program history, and over its first three decades, Oklahoma State has built itself into a consistent winner.Â
   • In its first 30 seasons, OSU posted a 352-203-68 (.620) record.
   • OSU has made 14 appearances in the NCAA Women's Soccer Championship. The Cowgirls have earned a NCAA tourney berth in 13 of the last 20 years (beginning in 2006).
   • From 2006-11, the Cowgirls earned six-straight NCAA tourney bids and advanced to at least the second round each time, including back-to-back Elite Eight appearances in 2010 and 2011.Â
   • From 2008-11, OSU celebrated four consecutive Big 12 championships — two regular season (2008, '11) and two tournament ('09, '10). The Cowgirls also won regular season titles in 2017 and 2019.
   • Six Cowgirls have earned All-America honors, with Yolanda Odenyo, AD Franch, Melinda Mercado, Haley Woodard, Kim Rodriguez and Grace Yochum on that elite list.Â
Scouting The Opponents
   • Ranked 12th nationally, Texas Tech is tied atop the Big 12 standings at 3-0-1 and is 7-0-4 overall.Â
   • Tom Stone is in his 20th season as the Red Raiders' head coach and owns a 232-108-59 record. Â
   • OSU is 16-11-7 all time against TTU but hasn't won in the series since 2020. The Red Raiders are 3-0-3 in the last six meetings, winning the last three matchups.Â
   • UCF will face TCU Thursday night in Fort Worth before hosting the Cowgirls on Sunday. The Knights entered the week tied with OSU in the Big 12 standings at 1-2-1 and 6-3-1 overall.Â
   • Tiffany Roberts Sahaydak is in her 14th season as UCF's head coach and owns a 139-68-38 record. Â
   • OSU is 2-3-0 all time against UCF; last season, the Knights were 2-1 winners in Stillwater.Â
Home Sweet Home
OSU has won over 70 percent of its games in nine seasons at Neal Patterson Stadium, which opened in 2018. The Cowgirls are 57-19-10 on their current home turf, including a 5-1-3 mark this season.Â
OSU has gone undefeated at home in seven seasons in its history, the last time coming in 2019.
Squashed The Frogs
OSU's win over 14th-ranked TCU marked its first victory over a ranked opponent since the Cowgirls won at No. 6 Nebraska to open the 2024 season. It snapped a seven-game losing streak against the Horned Frogs and was OSU's first triumph over TCU since 2017.
After going winless in Big 12 play last season, the victory was also the Cowgirls' first in conference play since Oct. 20, 2024, when they won at UCF. After scoring just five goals in 11 league games last season, OSU tallied three in the win over TCU.Â
Stepping Up The Scoring Punch
Through 12 games, OSU has recorded 26 goals, with 11 Cowgirls finding the back of the net.
In 19 games last season, OSU had just 20 goals with eight different players scoring.Â
Sharing Is CaringÂ
Emmy Hedden has moved to a new position as a sophomore, and she's making the adjustment from midfielder to wide back nicely.
Hedden has recorded a team-high five assists, which is tied for sixth most in the Big 12, to go along with a pair of goals. She netted her first goal of the season in the win over No. 14 TCU and was named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week for her performance against the Frogs.Â
Better In America's BrightestÂ
Keaton Mitchell had a career day in leading the Cowgirls to their first win of the season over SFA.
A transfer from Tennessee, Mitchell had two career goals in 49 games for the Vols. In her second game at OSU, the senior midfielder came off the bench and netted a pair of goals, one in each half, to lead the Cowgirls to the victory over SFA.
Mitchell added a goal and an assist against Southeast Missouri State and had the game-winning goal against No. 14 TCU. Her four goals is second on the Cowgirls, and she ranks second with nine points.Â
Sonora Sends It In
Sonora DeFini set scoring records during her high school career in Nebraska, and she has continued to rack up goals at the collegiate level.
DeFini leads OSU with five goals this season, which comes on the heels of her freshman campaign of a year ago when she ranked second on the Cowgirls with four goals. She also had a pair of assists last season and was second on the squad with 10 points.
Through a dozen games in 2026, DeFini leads the team with 13 points on five goals and three assists.
