Six Cowboys Earn Top Seeds in Big 12 Championship Brackets Reveal

STILLWATER – Six Oklahoma State wrestlers earned their weight's No. 1 seed, the conference announced Monday in its reveal of the tournament brackets.
The six Cowboy wrestlers that garnered the top spot in their respective weight classes include Troy Spratley (125), Jax Forrest (133), Sergio Vega (141), Casey Swiderski (149), Dee Lockett (165) and Alex Facundo (174).
After finishing second at the Big 12 Championships a season ago, Spratley comes in as the top seed this season. The 125-pounder comes into the postseason 12-3 on the year, having yet to drop a bout to a Big 12 foe.
At 133 pounds, freshman phenom Forrest claimed the top spot after his 10-0 start to his collegiate career. Against Big 12 competition this season, Forrest has picked up bonus points in each of his five contests with a pair of pins and three technical falls.
The lone unbeaten on the Cowboys roster, Vega comes into the Big 12 Championships a flawless 15-0 with eight ranked wins. The freshman has picked up bonus points in each of his last three contests.
After missing last season due to injury, 149-pounder Swiderski comes into the field slotted first after placing third two years ago. Swiderski comes into this weekend's action having won 10 of his last 11 bouts and back-to-back bouts over ranked opponents.
True freshman Lockett enters the first postseason action of his career seated atop the 165-pound bracket. Lockett is 13-1 this season and has not dropped a bout to a Big 12 foe.
174-pounder Facundo rounds out the top seeds for the Cowboys, having won 13 of his last 15. Facundo has not lost to a Big 12 opponent and will receive a bye in the opening round.
Landon Robideau (157), Zack Ryder (184) and Konner Doucet (HWT) come into this weekend's action slotted second in their respective weight classes. Doucet placed fifth at the Big 12 Championships in 2022-23 and 2023-24 before sitting out last season behind national champion Wyatt Hendrickson.
197-pounder Cody Merrill is set to make his Big 12 Championships debut as well this weekend, fresh off a dual-clinching pin against No. 7 Iowa last week.
The Big 12 Championships will be held March 6-7 at the BOK Center in Tulsa. All sessions can be streamed on ESPN+.
