Cowgirls comeback to beat Baylor in series opener
April 24, 2026 | Cowgirl Softball
WACO, Texas – A four-run seventh-inning rally lifted the No. 18/17 Oklahoma State softball team to a 4-2 comeback win over Baylor on Friday night at Getterman Stadium.
The victory improved the Cowgirls to 32-13 overall and 12-7 in Big 12 play, while Baylor fell to 27-21 and 9-10 in conference play.
OSU trailed, 2-0, entering the seventh inning and had been limited offensively through the first six frames. The Cowgirls broke through when Rosie Davis delivered a bases-loaded single to score Aubrey Jones. Lexi McDonald followed in the next at-bat with a sacrifice fly to deep right field that scored Macy Graf to tie the game and swing all momentum to OSU.
Amanda Hasler then provided the decisive swing later in the inning with a two-out, two-run triple to right that put the Pokes on top, 4-2.
The Cowgirls had a bases-loaded opportunity to score in the sixth inning but were unable to capitalize as Baylor escaped the jam and maintained its lead at the time.
The game featured a pitchers' duel between OSU's Ruby Meylan and Baylor's Peyton Tanner. Meylan (22-6) allowed just one earned run and secured her 15th consecutive victory on the season and her seventh straight complete game victory.
Tanner turned in a strong performance for Baylor, pitching six shutout innings before giving way in the seventh. Cambree Creager (9-10) entered in relief and was charged with her 10th loss of the year.
The weekend series continues at 2 p.m. CT tomorrow, with the Cowgirls seeking to secure their fifth consecutive Big 12 Conference series win.
