Cowgirl Track & Field wins DMR, places second overall in team standings in Drake Relays Cup
April 25, 2026 | Cowgirl Cross Country & Track
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State men's and women's outdoor track & field capped off their weekend at the Drake Relays and OU O Ring Open, with the Cowgirls taking home the silver in the Drake Relays Cup in Iowa.
After clocking the second-fastest time in collegiate history in the 4x800 Meter Relay on Friday, the Cowgirls immediately hit the ground running on Saturday in the Distance Medley Relay. The squad of Kaylie Politza, Jinah Mickens-Malik, Brooke Beck and Billah Jepkirui dominated the lead through each leg, smashing the rest of the field by nearly ten seconds overall with their time of 10:54.94.
The Cowgirls continued to flex their muscles with a second-place finish in the Sprint Medley Relay, with the quartet of Madisyn Jackson, Kalen Goodman, Jinah Mickens-Malik and Elyse Wilmes breaking the school record in the event by over four seconds with their mark of 3:50.09.
Despite the Cowgirls' impressive performances and a sixth-place finish in the 4x400 to give them 31 team points, they finished six points behind Iowa, who won the Sprint Medley, 4x100 and 4x400 Meter Relays on the day to win the Drake Relays Cup.
Back in Norman, Okla., at the OU O Ring Alumni Open, two Cowgirls claimed spots on the podium in the women's High Jump. Junior Kileigh Mixon prevailed in the event, clearing a height of 1.73m on her first attempt to take the gold. Annie Molenhouse rounded out the top three, clearing a season-best height of 1.68m and finishing third overall.
In the women's Heptathlon, Jamila Isman wrapped up her day with a total of 5,164 points, earning her a second-place finish and marking the sixth-best performance in program history.
Elsewhere on the track, Carter Wilkerson carved out success in multiple events on the track. In the men's 100 Meters, Wilkerson claimed victory with his time of 10:42, just five-tenths away from his season best. Not long after, he hit the track once more while competing in the 200 Meters, taking second and logging a new personal-best time of 20.89. The time was good enough for the fourth fastest in program history.
Next up, the Cowboys and Cowgirls head to the Payton Jordan Invitational in Palo Alto, Cal., on May 1.
