WACO, Texas – A six-run seventh inning lifted the No. 18/17 Oklahoma State softball team to an 8-1 win over Baylor to complete a series sweep on Sunday afternoon at Getterman Stadium.

The victory improved Oklahoma State to 34-13 overall and 14-7 in Big 12 play, while Baylor fell to 27-23 and 9-12 in conference play. The sweep marked the Cowgirls' fifth consecutive Big 12 series win and their second conference sweep of the season.

OSU broke open a 2-1 game in the top of the seventh inning. With the bases loaded, Tia Warsop delivered an RBI single to extend the lead. Montgomery Henderson followed with an RBI single, and Aubrey Jones added a two-run double to left-center field. Claire Timm capped the inning with a two-run single to center field that pushed the advantage to 8-1.

The six-run eighth felt inevitable, as the Cowgirls mounted threats throughout the game, but ended up leaving eight runners on base.

The Cowgirls took an early lead in the third inning, scoring two runs on a Baylor error. The Bears answered with their only run in the sixth inning when SaMya Jones hit an RBI single to left field.

Lexi McDonald had a career day, going 4-for-4 with a run scored.

In the circle, Ruby Meylan (23-6) delivered another dominant performance, notching her 17th complete game of the season. She allowed one earned run on five hits, walked one and worked efficiently through high-pressure situations. The win was her 16th straight winning decision and her eighth consecutive complete game victory.

Peyton Tanner (9-7) started for Baylor and pitched 6 1/3 innings, allowing eight runs to take the loss.

OSU will be back in action at 6 p.m. CT on April 29, to play Tulsa at Cowgirl Stadium.
